Please post your log file.

Those are standard java system properties. So use whatever mechanism
are available for command line java system properties under Tomcat.
One option is to modify catalina.sh-- I'm sure there are more elegant
options.

Just curious, why do you want to use the app server distro rather than
stand-alone?
