I think your wish has been granted ;)

Configuration->Advanced->Wan hostname; does exactly
that. Put your ISP assigned IP address in there.

Even better, your IP address is probably vended to you
via DHCP, in which case you can use a Dynamic DNS name
provider to get an actualy DNS name that will stay
constant, even as your IP address is changed by your
ISP. Take a look at DynDNS (which I think is probably
the best provider). My Linksys router even has a
DynDNS client built in!

I think that the above setting should also solve
problem 2).
