A real "Pixory is unable to service your last request" issue

I am having a problem with Pixory I am hoping you can help me with.  I
recently upgraded to a new computer, and so copied my "My Pictures"
folder over to the new computer.  I also copied the Pixory database
files, located at C:\Documents and Settings\Alon\.pixory\data In
addition to that I decided it was finally time to upgrade to the
latest greatest version, so I went from 0.3.9 to 0.5.3, backing up my
database just in case of course.

I then received "Pixory is unable to service your last request" type
errrors when trying to view albums on the public page, as well as when
trying to configure albums in the composer.  No amount of obvious
tweaking seemed to fix it.  Things I tried included backing out to
0.3.9 and my backed up database, ensuring my all the files and folders
in "My Pictures" were not read only, and removing the database files
and having pixory recreate new ones.  The problem has persisted.  I
also tried renaming the .alb file in one of the problem directories,
which seemed to fix it, but then noticed that my naratives are in that
.alb, and I would really prefer no to lose those naratives.

I am running Windows XP SP1 with J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 1

The log seems to show this error everytime I get "Pixory is unable to
service your last request" regardless of Pixory version or other
variables.
