You can just delete the stuff. If it still runs files will be locked yes.

I'm assuming you are running standalone on Windows? : look at the
processes under taskmanager. Kill that java thing.
If under Linux do a ps and kill it.

If under an servletcontainer (tomcat e.o) you will know what todo

BTW I'm not sure if Pixory has a nice shutdown procedure standalone.
