Sorry if I was rude, but you appear not to be listening to what I'm
saying -- I've already answered your question:

So please let me answer it a third time:

  * if socksParentProxy is set, the DNS is not used for resolving the
    addresses of web servers; there is none of what the tor community
    calls "DNS leakage";
  
  * however, the DNS is used for resolving the value of socksParentProxy
    itself; hence, if you're truly paranoid, you might want to set it to
    a dotted quad address.

The name "localhost" is special-cased in Polipo's DNS code, so the
latter point does not apply to this particular name.
