Detecting parentProxy features, changing

Hi,

on http://localhost:8123/polipo/servers? I see the single parent proxy which 
is configured as parentProxy like this:

But sometimes it switches to different Version 1.0 and Pipeline 
capabilities.
Does that mean the external proxy does change its behaviour or that the 
requested http webserver behind the external proxy is different?
