Stale data on web forums

Hi,

I often see stale data on web forums or even on Ebay:
After sending a post I need to reload the thread to see my own post.

On MyEbay I even see old items with old expire dates if not reloading from
the browser.
The reloading always works with simple reload (no Shift+R).

So while I like to have as much cached as possible without reloading
external content, how can I improve that behaviour?

My current configuration:

,----[ /etc/polipo/config ]
| allowedClients = 127.0.0.1
| cacheIsShared = false
| censorReferer = maybe
| censoredHeaders = from, accept-language
| chunkHighMark = 104857600
| disableIndexing = false
| disableServersList = false
| diskCacheRoot = "/var/cache/polipo/"
| diskCacheTruncateTime = 14d2h
| logSyslog = true
| maxAge = 30d1h
| maxConnectionAge = 5h
| maxExpiresAge = 100d1h
| maxNoModifiedAge = 2d
| objectHashTableSize = 0
| objectHighMark = 16384
| parentProxy = "nextproxy:8080"
| proxyAddress = "127.0.0.1"
| proxyName = "localhost"
| #relaxTransparency = maybe
| serverIdleTimeout = 15m
| serverMaxSlots = 10
| serverSlots = 10
`----

I started with disabling "relaxTransparency = maybe" but that did not help.
I read the chapter [4.1.2 Further tweaking of validation behaviour] and
considered setting dontCacheCookies. But doesn't that mean to have almost
all pages not cacheable?

Best regards,
Massimo
