Double check your paths.

 From your compiler output, gcc is probably expecting to
find the include file at:
   /opt/local/include/openssl/include/openssl/ssl.h

If the include file is at:
   /opt/local/include/openssl/ssl.h
Maybe you installed openssl with /opt/local as a prefix?

If so, try to pass --with-ssl=/opt/local to the Pound
configure, and see if there's a difference.
