[Pound Mailing List] Status 500 connecting to glassfish server

We upgraded our web application to Oracle GlassFish Server 3.1.2.8 
(build 2).

Ever since then pound users have been getting transient Status 500 errors.

We are running pound 2.7a.

Looking at the pound logs, I see alot of
Aug 22 09:17:33 wdc-pound2 pound: (b4b04b70) e500 for 10.1.1.9 response 
error read from 10.26.4.22:80/GET /app_url HTTP/1.1: Success (30.112 secs)

I'm wondering what could be tuned in pound or glassfish?
