That's too bad. I'm pushing for modernization since Privoxy is an
increasingly important tool in the fight for web privacy and security.

The major disadvantage of CVS is that new developers don't bother to
learn CVS anymore. As a result, CVS discourages some people from
contributing.

Of course, there are several other advantages to switching to modern
version control, but I wont go into those.

I wasn't necessarily advocating for github. There are indeed
accessibility issues with github's website--I ran into one myself
recently. However, github's main feature is a large user-base, meaning
the Privoxy code would be exposed to more people.

Regardless, moving away from CVS should be a much higher priority than
switching hosts. One of the advantages of distributed version control
is that it doesn't matter too much where the code itself is hosted.
