Please move all the .c and .h files scattered over the root directory under a Source/ directory tree. This provides a cleaner project layout.

I'm opposed to it if it means messing up the revision history.

Not messing up the revision history probably requires a change
of revision control systems first and while I think that would be
a good idea anyway, it's not particular high on my list.

I'm not opposed - we actually did that in the defunct 3.1 branch of the
source tree.  (See CVS tag v_3_1_archive_branch under current.)  Maybe at
another large-ish juncture we could do some source tree restructuring.
