At least for me it's just one of many items on the TODO list
and doing it now means not doing other stuff now:

For an official repository, manual interaction is required,
for example to adjust the committer info. The git-cvsimport
manual also explicitly recommends not using it for final
imports.

The "Find out" part isn't done yet, either:
