What I wnated to do was simply to air the specific problems that you
had with the comments module so that they were a matter of record, and
maybe to inspire some discussion about them.

Hmmm, that actually seems to be not a bad idea. I never thought of
that. I don't know of any blogs that I read which have comment feeds,
but I certainly never looked.
