i'm in the middle of (slowly) tightening up the contrib package's support for
handling comment spam. this will mostly involve mako's akismet plugin, which i
think is currently in flux, and a very lightweight javascript alternative,
which went into svn a couple days ago. (they can work together.)

i'm also thinking about whether i want to try to put ajax comment support into
the contrib package. it's definitely doable, but i'm not sure whether i want
to foist it onto the community yet. thoughts?

finally, i'm doing some integration testing of the plugins in contrib, as well
as minor documentation. i'd like to get a new release out within a month or so.
