EntryBase and FileEntry

Has anyone ever seen instances of people writing EntryBase subclasses?

I'm tossing around ditching EntryBase, folding the bits needed into 
FileEntry and slimming down that side of the API.  The thinking being 
that if no one is using it, might as well throw it out for 2.0.
