do we just need to pay attention to the order in which we load plugins,
or..?
from a quick glance, it also seems some plugins use different callbacks, so it may work with some, but not with others.
I.e. pyfilenamemtime does its thing in cb_filestat(), whereas
pymetatime uses cb_prepare() and cb_sortlist()
