Idea for performance improvement

To improve the performance of dynamic page creations with my subversion
plugin. I hacked in memcached support.  More info on that here:

But, I'm wondering if might be made generic to work with all filestat
plugins.

The idea is to basically test the cache filestat data before calling other
filestat plugins.  Filestat is only called the first time a new entry is
rendered.

Is anybody interested in this?  If not I won't bother repackaging the code.
