I don't think we have an official policy in regards to who what the ideal 
PyBlosxom user is.  So in terms of official targetting, we're up in the 
air.

However, in my opinion, I don't see my mom as an ideal user of PyBlosxom. 
I think we'd have to put in a lot more effort to user-friendly-ize 
PyBlosxom to get there.  Since there are other blog systems that are much 
more user friendly, I don't think it makes sense to target that group and 
I think it's more useful to target programmer/developer types who don't 
mind tinkering with PyBlosxom to get it to meet their needs.  I see this 
as the same difference between playing with Legos and playing with GI Joe 
figures.

In my opinion, I don't think we're targetting only Python programmers. 
But at the same time, we're not targetting everyone in the world and I 
don't think we can or should.

Again, I reiterate that I don't think there's an official PyBlosxom 
position on this.


In regards to pyinclude, I don't want to add the functionality you 
mentioned to pyinclude because I think it can already do what you want. 
My policy on this is that if people don't agree with me on what should and 
should not be included in my plugins, they're welcome to fork the code and 
maintain the functionality they want to have.  I add functionality to my 
plugins if I see a good argument for a driving need, think it fits in with 
the plugins' limited mission in life, and it's something I can easily test 
with my own blog (i.e. functionality that I myself will use).  Beyond that 
I don't want to include and maintain functionality that I don't think fits 
in with the plugin or that I don't plan on using.  It will be too much 
effort and I want to focus my energies on other things.

I do realize that's somewhat of a pain in the ass from the user's 
perspective.  Thus my plugins are freely available and people can do with 
them as they so desire.
