I commented out the #AddOutputFilterByType and 'BrowserMatch 
\bMSIE !no-gzip' to my .htaccess . Looking at the document info in Konq, 
Mozilla it appears to be off. But in IE, ieHTTPHeaders shows:

Accept-Language: en-us
Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)

Is deflate on by default. Not sure how to otherwise turn it off?
