LaTeX/Math plugin

Someone wrote this as a feature request.  It's not really a feature 
request, though.  On the flip side, there's no where else to post plugin 
requests, so I'm fowarding the plugin request here to see if anyone can 
help.  Unfortunately, the author left no contact information--I don't know 
if they're on the list or not.

Has anybody a plugin supporting formulas within pyblosxom?

Right now, I'm using blosxom (the Perl thing) with Markdown and a quick 
hack to support Mimetex[1]. It sort of works (i.e., every 
$$latex-formula$$ is translated to a Mimetex-Image), but isn't perfect: 
Markdown sometimes tries to process content within formulas which results 
in garbage.

I was wondering if there is a cleaner solution to the problem available in 
pyblosxom?
