Re: $path not working #Resend - Did anyone receive this?

$path is a relative pointer to your categories. This behaviour is  
strictly kept as close as possible to the original blosxom.  
$absolute_path will always start from the root, and $path starts  
relative to where your page is at...

Imagine a blog with /foo/bar/baz with an article /foo/bar/baz/ 
hello_world.txt, you are at /foo/:

$absolute_path = /foo/bar/baz
$path = bar/baz

If you used a date based path, it does not make sense to start path  
at any where else than /foo/bar/baz ($path is category based)..

$path does not work for Martin because he use "$url$path", it may be  
in the default templates.

There is a pitfall however. $path is not calculated properly. One  
must use $path with a trailing / (for linking), and must usually  
prepend a ./, if you enter a category without a trailing / at your url.

If there's a variable in serious need of unit testing, I think $path  
would be the one :)

Anyway, the reference design for $path was blosxom 0+5i, which is a  
very old version, no one complained about the $path implementation  
then. I, being a rebel, introduced $absolute_path. :)
