At first blush, this looks like a feature lacking in the rss2renderer. 
I'll create a bug report and look into it sometime in the next seven days.

Having said that, if you upgrade to PyBlosxom 1.3, you won't need the 
rss2renderer plugin anymore since PyBlosxom 1.3 has Atom 1.0 and RSS 2.0 
flavours.
