Oh!  Well, then remove the rss2 plugin.  The link for your feed should be:

     http://mdke.org/blog/index.rss2

I think you need to add "/index.rss2" to the "static_urls" configuration 
variable or add "rss2" to the "static_flavours" variable.  The former will 
just make an rss2 feed of your index, the latter will make rss2 feeds for 
everything.

The nice thing about the rss2 flavour is that if there are parts of it you 
don't like, or you want to do something it doesn't do, you can just 
override the specific rss2 template--just like other flavours.
