(of course, this is moot if will is the only active pyblosxom developer. :P) true, it is annoying to cut a new release just for e.g. comments, but does it really take more than a few hours? if so, i'd gladly volunteer to help. others on the list probably would too. otherwise, i'm mostly happy with contributed plugins. my one main issue is that they're red-headed step-children. they're maintained alongside pyblosxom, but there are stern warnings that this is a Bad Thing, and it's implied that they could disappear or explode or fall in the tub and break their hip, at any time, and we shouldn't complain because pyblosxom Told Us So. :P ok, it's not quite that bad. still, most of pyblosxom's functionality comes from plugins, so the ambivalence doesn't instill confidence in users or developers. it's not clear who really maintains the contributed plugins, whether it's ok to submit patches to them, what the process is, etc. don't get me wrong, i doubt we want any "process" for a project as small as pyblosxom. hashing things out on list is much more lightweight. the majority of weekend hackers who might dabble in pyblosxom aren't on the list, though, so all they see is the warnings. we should consider getting off the fence and either dumping the contributed plugins altogether or supporting them fully. i'd vote for supporting them, but that's just my vote. -Ryan -- http://snarfed.org/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
