It is an unfortunate side effect of windows. Windows paths are not / so one has to convert them speficically.
Sounds like a job for a plugin. I'm not at my computer right now (using my Palm to reply to this), but the plugin I'm thinking about should take less then ten minutes to complete. On the template (flavour files) one would change their $file_path variable for example, to $conv2dos('file_path') and the plugin will look up data['file_path'] and converts any '/' to '\\'.. really as easy as that.. Any volunteer to take the task? It's just a 10 liner the most, I promise.
