I'm not sure why that would be happening.  You have Python 2.4.4 which has 
the logging module which has a WARNING attribute, so as far as I can tell, 
you should be sliding through that bit of code just fine.  Not only that, 
but if you don't specify the log variable, it defaults to "warning".

Is there anything "interesting" about your blog setup that might be 
causing this issue?
