ah! if you're using the comment-form.html template that comes with the contrib 
pack, you need to copy comments.js into your plugin dir as well as 
comments.py. sorry, i just realized you hadn't mention doing that.

alternatively, if you don't want ajax commenting, you can just remove the 
onclick handlers from the form and button input tags in comment-form.html. 
there's more info in the AJAX SUPPORT section of the comments.py file comment.
