This is intended behavior and PyBlosxom jumps through some hoops to make it happen. It allows you to more easily view archives of categories. For example: /dev/ views the dev category and: /dev/2003/ views items in the dev category from 2003 /dev/2003/01/ views items in the dev category from January of 2003 and so on. I happen to like this feature of PyBlosxom, but it definitely makes it difficult to have categories that looks like dates. At this point, I think the better fix is to have people name their categories differently. For example, using "year2003" instead of "2003" as a category name. If we were to change this behavior in PyBlosxom 2.0, what should the new behavior be?
