sure, understandable. there are a number of existing plugins that do similar 
things, pycalendar in particular. does that one not do what you want? see:

we've been thinking about this a fair amount for 2.0. it's a little trickier 
than it seems at first. blake winton has written up the issues and a proposed 
design, below. feel free to check that out and contribute:

cool, thanks! this makes sense. it should be a comment spam plugin that 
implements the cb_reject() callback, though, not a direct patch to 
comments.py. see these examples:
