BTW, as an excercise, the plugin I gave out does contain bugs :) For 
example, entry will always contain data even when you use dospath2uri() 
on the footer, and this data could be stale. You can squash this 
potential bug by just emptying the entry dict after you get the value 
you want, and then return the value. Also to speed up processing, you 
could do the get_registry, getData and getConfiguration /after/ doing an 
entry.has_key(var). That way, you won't call those functions 
redundantly, every time on a story processing.
