images in posts

hello,

I'm wondering how people put images in their posts.  Just putting a
relative url to the image (kept in the same directory as the post) doesn't
work since my URI doesn't correspond to the directory the image is in.  I
can see several ways to do this, but I'm looking for a simple and easy
one.
