I'd advocate for that too, if it was suggested the last time (when I was 
a naive pyblosxom newbie), but I have a 
less-features-pyblosxom-has-the-better-it-is thinking for now. If the 
changes you want is something that cannot be provided as a plugin, see 
if I can add a hook to allow the feature to be a plugin, else it 
probably is something worthwhile to add in.
