I need help testing some new aspects of PyBlosxom 1.0 before we finalize things and release it. As such, I'm "releasing" alpha 1 to you folks in hopes that this will provide enough feedback to figure out whether there's yet more work to be done. The alpha tarball is here: http://bluesock.org/~willg/dev/pyblosxom/pyblosxom-1.0-alpha1.tar.gz It's pretty stable (I've been using it for a while now on my site and Planet PyBlosxom), so it won't crash your world. Having said that, you should back things up before you use this. I would suggest doing a local install rather than a site-wide install. There's a README file which lists differences between 0.9 and 1.0 and things you will need to do if things you use were adjusted. There's an INSTALL file which walks through installation. Additionally, there's a howto on the wiki that walks through setting up PyBlosxom 1.0 for static rendering: http://wiki.subtlehints.net/moin/PyBlosxom_2fStaticRendering Things that need testing and looking at: 1. static rendering 2. documentation that comes with PyBlosxom tarball 3. documentation that is in the wiki I think that's about it. There are a few of us that sit on IRC at #pyblosxom on freenode.net. Additionally, you can send feedback to me specifically or to this mailing list. I'll try to handle things as quickly as I can, but I don't have a lot of free time. The emphasis is to put out 1.0 as soon as possible because we've been sitting on it for too long (my fault). As such, medium to large feature requests will likely get delayed until 1.1. Anything that we can't come to a concensus on will also probably get delayed until 1.1. Right now I'm working on documentation. That includes the documentation that comes with the PyBlosxom tarball, the source-code documentation, and also the documentation in the wiki. I think that's the only outstanding thing for 1.0. Anyhow, if you can't test it out, that's fine--don't worry about it. If you have some spare cycles to test things out, please do and send us feedback. Rock on! /will -- whatever it is, you can find it at http://www.bluesock.org/~willg/ except Will--you can only see him in real life. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by Sleepycat Software Learn developer strategies Cisco, Motorola, Ericsson & Lucent use to deliver higher performing products faster, at low TCO. http://www.sleepycat.com/telcomwpreg.php?From=osdnemail3
