Re: Idea for comment spam. Use mt-blacklist's blacklist.

That'd work.  I tossed in blacklisted words handling into my local 
comments plugin (so it's only on my blog) and it's worked pretty well.  I 
can adjust that code to work with mt-blacklist without too much problem.

I still think the best solution that currently exists for comment spam 
filtering is the human verification stuff:

I think different people will want to solve this using different methods 
that optimize on maintenance and performance and things of that nature. 
Given that, I think what I may do is adjust the code so that it uses a 
callback for spam-catching allowing people to implement their favorite 
spam catching heuristics in a plugin.  Then we can implement multiple spam 
catching plugins, each person can use their favorite method, and it can be 
extended and modified without adjusting the comments plugin itself.  That 
allows people to share their methods more easily and even use multiple 
plugins if they wanted to.

If that sounds like a good idea, it's something I can implement in 
October.  I don't think I'll get to it earlier than that, though.
