Subversion for meta-data. anybody working on it?

I know others have discussed using Subversion for entry meta data.  Using
the file time/date stamp is failing miserably for me.  I'm going to try to
hack in some sort of subversion support tommorow.  I just want to ping you
all incase somebody has already started work there.
