The process() method relieves the driver of the burden of knowing
about HTTPRequest.

If, for some reason, you want your publisher to use a custom subclass
of HTTPRequest, independent of the driver, you can do this by overriding
process().  I don't think process_request() should change, since that
would break every quixote driver on the planet.
