Thanks to Titus, the problem is solved, calling time() instead of
time.time() as I have already imported the time module.  I was
wondering in my work though why Firefox does not reflect the recent
changes although I have removed the pyc files, restarted the app and
the httpd server. Yet when I fired up Mozilla or Opera, the latest
modifications can be seen. I have to reboot and finally Firefox saw my
last changes.
