Ah, I wish I'd known! Thanks - I applied your patches to the (previous) PTL 
source (Neil pointed them out to me): I found a small problem in ptl_compile, 
but you might have corrected it in your code. I also ignored the C/C++ code.

I have the PTL and other tests passing, but am puzzling over the PTL import 
routines: I do not use PTL at all, hence my call for test files!.
