Hello,
I was looking to create a foaf profile for members of an online community of writers. I then thought it would be good to have the ability to include/publish as semantic data, two sets of information, the first of which is easier. This would expand upon their foaf profile with additional information. For example the first feature would expand upon foaf:publication.
1) Publications – such as individual poems and where they have been published, as well as books of poetry, for example (similarly there would be essays, short stories) and so for this feature, we are looking at basically something in the way of a citation, with title of publication, title of poem, name, publisher, date, etc. I don’t know if dc or dcterms would have all the properties needed. I didn’t see one for isbn or pages, such as stating what pages exist in the full citation for a work. Is there another vocabulary I should use with foaf for this?
2) If we wanted to publish prose inside an rdf file (and it would have to be small in length) there’s not so much of a problem but if we wanted to include poetry, there is the formatting option of line breaks for presentation, or to keep it as a poem. Do we just use \n the new line character?
I suppose that something like this must have been done, referring to #2. RDBMS are used for this and it could be useful.
Thanks,
Bruce
