Tremblant, Montreal May 14-17, 2007 http://gdn2007.concordia.ca/ ================================================================================= DESCRIPTION The growth of e-commerce and e-business has resulted in an increased number of the types and forms of information sources and exchange mechanisms in electronic marketplaces. In addition to the main types of exchange mechanisms including catalogues, auctions and negotiations, the marketplaces often offer many variations and combinations of each separately and combined. The participants may access a variety of information sources and choose from many different exchange mechanisms; some of which are complex and difficult to conduct. Therefore both the communication efficiency in accessing and exchanging the information, and the operational effectiveness in supporting and automating decision-making processes are critical considerations in the development and adoption of the marketplace platforms. The aim of this session is to present the latest developments in the negotiation and market platforms. The presentations will involve demonstrations of the operational, prototypical or experimental platforms. Participants are encouraged to submit a full paper or an extended abstract about the platform, together with a brief description of the proposed demonstration. The extended abstract should give a short overview of the demonstrated platform, its underlying principles and state the significance of the contribution to the field. The full paper should present the approach and the platform in more details, preferably including a case-study or an example of real-world application. The selection of the submissions will be based upon the relevance, originality and contributions. Both the extended abstracts and full papers will be published in the conference proceedings, and revised papers will be considered for journal publication. TOPICS OF INTEREST We welcome submissions of papers on and demonstrations of the innovative marketplace platforms including, but not limited to, the following areas: - Electronic auctions and markets - E-negotiation systems and assistants - Agent-based auction, negotiation and market systems - Decision support and automation in marketplaces - Integration and standards (e.g. web services, agents) - Ontology and semantic interoperability - Platforms for specific application domains SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS Submissions involve two parts as follows: - A full paper or an extended abstract formatted according to the GDN conference requirements (see http://gdn2007.concordia.ca/index.php?authorsInstructions=1) and submitted via the GDN2007 conference submission system at http://gdn2007.concordia.ca/SubmitAbstract.php (abstracts) and http://gdn2007.concordia.ca/SubmitPaper.php (papers). - A short description of the demo (max 2 pages), including its content and format, a detailed description of the hardware and software requirements, and a URL for a currently-active WWW-based demo, video clip or a demo storyboard. The demo description should be sent after the paper submission as a PDF attachment via e-mail to [email protected] (In the subject please include the Paper ID allocated during the paper submission). IMPORTANT NOTE Please note that by default, authors are required to present their software live at the session. Other formats of demonstration, such as video clips or slide shows may be accepted in exceptional cases. The authors are required to state in the demo description the format in which they will be presenting their demonstration.
