XML Hypermedia W3C Community Group proposal

Hi,

In recent discussions about xml:href, xml:src, xml:rel, xml:type,  xml:hreflang , xml:method and xml:tref on xml-dev, I've been persuaded that the best/fasted way to turn XML into a hypermedia language is to initiate a W3C Community Group dedicated to this subject, where community opinion can be gathered and represented.

So far, the idea has received some support, but I feel that there is a lot of latent support out there, and some focused application of hypermedia expertise is all that is required to help XML to become a native hypermedia language.

I hope that you will consider joining the W3C XML Hypermedia Community Group, in that any changes to W3C standards must be driven by user requirements, and the Community Groups are designed to gather those.   So, if I've misrepresented the requirements, please join and help clarify them.  If you agree with the requirements, please join to show your support.  The more members, the better the chance of change.
