Only because it’s misused and misinterpreted everywhere doesn’t mean that’s not worth stating. You can do it well or badly but not right or wrong. On this list we should know better than to confuse “meaningless to the client in a hypermedia design” with “meaningless in its essence”. And unless you also thought I was championing the use of GUIDs as method names I don’t know why after I said it’s akin to naming your methods or your CSS classes you would think I was saying it makes no difference in practice.
