Hi Sanjiva,
I quickly checked Chapter 13, Future Directions, but I don't see any
reference to future work on a global model.

If I missed it, please let me know where it talks about it. This is
important to understand BPEL's future direction.

No! They represent in some sense the projection of a global
model to one partner. That is, effectively the public
process or interface of the service in terms of order of
execution etc..

I believe global models work is listed in the BPEL doc
as future work, but I may be mistaken.
