This might be a snapshot of the current situation, but we should keep in mind that Web services are a rapidly evolving technology, and that ebXML is at a more developed stage than Web services. So comparing the two based on the current snapshot might not be correct.

If we look at emerging Web services specs like BPEL and WS-Transactions, we can see that they have plenty of things to say about context and long-running conversations.
