Title: User Experience Designer (Contract) Description: Provide leadership conducting task analysis and usability assessments. Work closely with customers, the business teams and the development teams to play a lead role in user interface design for web-based applications.. Conduct heuristic evaluations and recommend design improvements. Present usability results and recommend design solutions to project managers, business users, developers and testers. Conduct user requirements analysis and workflow analysis. Design the information architecture and content of the site and develop a conceptual model to prototype. Design and prototype interfaces using standard tools. Provide detailed design document for the development team to construct the site. Develops user guides. Gathers and analyzes user requirements. Needs to be able to identify and document requirements. Required technical skills: · HTML (Dreamweaver) · CSS · Excel · PowerPoint · Outlook · Visio · Word · Agile experience · Web-based application background for user-centered design work Details: The User Experience Designer will work with the business group to define requirements, refine requirements and design the user interface, including page flow, navigation structure and page layout. This individual will create critical documentation that serves as communications vehicles for the business group and the development team. The qualified candidate will have at least ten years of experience participating on development teams as the individual who is accountable for the user interface design specification. He or she should have proven expertise in web application design. Main Job Duties Responsibilities: The User Experience Designer will work with the business group to define the user base. He or she will also work with the current site support team to determine the established guidelines that apply to visual design and interaction design. The user experience designer will work with internal and external customers to define and document requirements for the functional user interface design of web sites and applications. Given this information, the User Experience Designer will create the navigation and individual page design that will become the new user interface. The User Experience Designer will conduct focus groups, user research and usability testing to validate designs. The User Experience Designer will work with individuals responsible for visual and graphic design to ensure the corporate brand guidelines are met for sites and applications. The User Experience Designer must be able to work with clients, customers, executive, technical and non-technical personnel at all levels of the organization. The User Experience Designer will lead and facilitate discussions and other activities to drive the activities for their key deliverables. The User Experience Designer will work within a defined Agile process. Key deliverables include: User Interface Requirements, User Profiles or Personas, Site Maps, Information Architecture, Wireframes, Interactive Prototypes, Heuristic Evaluations, Usability Test Scripts and Analysis, Detailed Design Documentation, including detailed business rules and details of how users might interact with the system. Certification is preferred but not required. Mobile application design experience is a plus. Graphic design is neither a requirement nor a focus of this role.
