Do I have to init my database > again? No, just get the local and remote sites into a state where they are "in synch" as far as you care for sitecopy's purposes, and then run --catchup on the site. It will then consider the site "updated". I've just committed the changes which implement both properly recursive --fetch (I believe you were interested in that one too) and hence exclude matching for --fetch.
