Well, that partially worked in that it excluded the top level .svn 
directory but not .svn directories below the top level. For example, if 
my site has:

.svn
/subdir1/.svn
/subdir2/.svn
/subdir2/anotherlevel/.svn

then only the top level one is excluded. I guess what I'm looking for is 
a sort of "exclude-name" directive. Or am I missing something in forming 
the right exclude pattern ? Any help much appreciated.
