Sitecopy times out

I am having problems using sitecopy (0.16.3) to upload some files. Every 
operation just times out.

 I can connect to the web site using the ftp command and copy files. However 
when doing a dir command it says entering passive mode or something like that 
and freezes. I have been told to type epsv4 and that fixes the ftp command.

I have tried ftp nopasv but that does not help.

It all worked a few months ago but since then I have updated to Suse 10.1 so 
something like the firewall might have changed.
