Web Browser Caching and 302 Response

Hey Scott, Thank you for your speedy reply. You are correct, I meant 304, not 302. I have looked over SIM-186 and am concerned my original posting was unclear. My problem is not that 304 responses are being decorated (as SIM-186 suggests), but rather, that SiteMesh is being "bypassed" when the underlying body of static content has not been modified. I am assuming others have encountered a similar issue when decorating bodies of static content, since a conditional GET is standard. I am assuming some form of SiteMesh "configuration trick" is needed to resolve the problem.
