Sitemesh as Proxy Webapp

Hello, We have multiple webapps on different deployed on different hosts, which have many links in between (its some kind of distributed webapp). Now, I would like to have a single entry webapp on one host which leverages sitemesh to retrieve the content from the remote webapps and display it. Does Sitemesh support this use case? Would authorization on the remote hosts work (using the same credentials as on the proxy host)? Or is this kind of use-case completely off track?
